Paper Play: Touch, Tear, Crumple & Crinkle! August 22, 2026. 10:00-10:30 AM
Get ready to crunch, crinkle, tear, and stick! In this playful class, toddlers will explore the endless possibilities of paper. We’ll start by discovering different kinds of paper—smooth, bumpy, shiny, soft, and crinkly—through hands-on sensory play. Children will then have the joy of tearing big sheets taped to the floor, experiencing the sound and feel of ripping paper. Finally, we’ll bring all those scraps together to make a colorful paper collage using sticky contact paper as our canvas. This class celebrates creativity, curiosity, and the simple joy of transformation!
Sensory Exploration and Discovery:
Children will use their senses to explore different types of paper—feeling textures, listening to sounds, and observing colors and patterns—to develop sensory awareness.
Fine Motor Development and Coordination:
Children will strengthen fine motor skills as they tear, crinkle, and stick pieces of paper, practicing hand–eye coordination and control.
Creative Expression and Collaboration:
Children will use a variety of paper scraps to create a colorful collage, expressing their creativity and joy in transforming materials through open-ended art-making.
