The Yellow Gallery: Smell, See, Create! May 23, 2026. 10:00-10:30 AM
Let’s dive into the world of yellow!
We’ll start with a joyful story that celebrates all things yellow, then explore the sights and scents of nature’s golden treasures—lemons, flowers, herbs, and more! Using our senses and curiosity, we’ll discover how yellow shows up in the world around us. Then, it’s time to get creative as we experiment with different art materials to make radiant yellow paintings and create stunning pounded flower prints using real blossoms!
What children will learn:
Color Recognition and Observation:
Children will be able to identify and describe the color yellow and recognize where it appears in nature and their surroundings.
Sensory Exploration and Curiosity:
Children will use their senses (sight, touch, smell) to explore yellow objects from nature—such as lemons, flowers, and herbs—and describe their sensory experiences.
Creative Expression and Fine Motor Development:
Children will experiment with different art materials to create yellow-themed artwork, expressing their ideas through painting and pounded flower prints while strengthening fine motor skills.
