Step into the calm and cool world of blue!

We’ll begin with a story that celebrates the beauty and depth of the color blue, then take a sensory dive into nature’s bluest wonders—smelling, observing, and discovering what makes this color so special. From there, we’ll get creative with a series of hands-on art experiences: we’ll make magical blue resist paintings, and design with soft yarn in many shades of blue.

What children will learn:

Color Awareness and Emotional Connection:

Children will identify and explore different shades of blue, recognizing how the color can represent calmness, coolness, and beauty in the natural world.

Sensory Exploration and Observation:

Children will use their senses to explore blue elements in nature—looking closely, touching, and smelling—to describe textures, scents, and visual qualities.

Artistic Expression and Creativity:

Children will experiment with various art techniques, such as resist painting and yarn design, to creatively express their understanding of the color blue and develop fine motor coordination.

IMPORTANT: This session is at the GE Club Studio on the second level at 1020 Swinney Ave, Fort Wayne, IN 46802
