Resist & Reveal: A Gelli Plate Printmaking Adventure! May 9, 2025. 10:30-11:30 AM
Join us for a creative adventure in printmaking! Children will use oil pastels to draw directly onto a Gelli plate, creating a design that "resists" acrylic paint. When the plate is pressed onto paper, the pastel areas stay untouched, revealing a one-of-a-kind print with a striking negative image of their original drawing. It's a fun and engaging way to experiment with this exciting medium!
What Children Will Learn:
Creative Expression – Children will explore and communicate their ideas through drawing and printmaking, enhancing their artistic creativity.
Fine Motor Skills – By using oil pastels and manipulating the Gelli plate, kids will improve hand-eye coordination and precision.
Problem-Solving – As they experiment with the resist technique, children will learn to think critically and creatively to achieve their desired print results.
