Walk, Hop, Jump & Waddle: Fun with Wind-Up Toys: March 25, 2023, at 12:00-12:30 PM
This is an art-play session. Children will have fun putting paint on the feet of little wind-up animal toys. Then they watch as the animals walk and hop across a surface leaving interesting prints as they go. A related picture book will be read during this session.
Early Skill Development – This session focuses on cause-and-effect & joint attention. Cause & effect is a basic thinking skill. Later on, it will be a strategy used by young readers to understand why things happen the way they do in the text.
Joint attention is a behavior in which two people focus on an object or event to interact with each other. It is a form of early social and communicative behavior. Being able to establish joint attention is vital for developing social communication and cognitive skills.
